Tails of Tucson is a heartfelt new project from award-winning pet photographer Candice Eaton of C. Eaton Photography, created to celebrate Tucson’s most lovable pets while raising money for a wonderful new local organization already making a difference.
This first edition of the book features the theme Desert Oasis, with pets being photographed in some of Tucson’s beautiful desert settings. The heart of this project is simple: to honor the pets we love, tell their stories, and help save more pets through the work of the Scarritt Foundation.
All session fees go directly to the Scarritt Foundation, and proceeds from the book's sale also support their mission.
This project is specific to Tucson, featuring Candice Eaton as the photographer and a book dedicated entirely to 20 Tucson pets, Tucson families, and the pets who make this community so special.

C. Eaton Photography is the exclusive photographer for the 2026 edition of Tails of Tucson, and applications are now open for these limited-edition pet photography sessions.
This year’s theme, Desert Oasis, will feature 20 Tucson pets photographed in the oases in and around Tucson. The little green spaces and riparian areas that stand out from the surrounding desert and support so much life here. These sessions are designed to celebrate the pets you love while highlighting the hidden (and not so hidden) gems in our beloved Sonoran Desert.
100% of session fees are donated to the Scarritt Foundation, and selected pets and stories will be included in the first edition of the Tails of Tucson book. Proceeds from book sales will support the Scarritt Foundation as well.
Participants will also have the opportunity to view and purchase custom keepsake artwork from their pet’s photography session.

Based in Tucson but built for a global mission, the Scarritt Foundation is dedicated to supporting 501(c)(3) organizations that rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals, while also funding critical veterinary care for pets in families facing financial hardship.
We bring this mission to life by funding lifesaving veterinary care in partnership with independent veterinarians who deliver that care at cost. We are expanding our monthly Pets Uplifting People (PUP) outreach clinics to support families facing housing instability and financial hardship. We award direct grants to local rescues across Southern Arizona.
What makes us different? Every dollar raised stays within the community where it was donated. For example, donations from Southern Arizona directly support Southern Arizona rescues, while funds from other regions benefit their local communities.
Tails of Tucson was created by Candice Eaton in 2026 to celebrate the pets we love while helping save the ones who still need us. After serving as the exclusive Tucson photographer for Tails of the World in 2024 and 2025, Candice saw just how powerful photography can be when it turns love into action. When that project ended, she didn’t want Tucson to lose something that could make a real difference. She created Tails of Tucson so local pets could be honored, their stories could be preserved, and more animals could get the help they deserve.
Since 2021, Candice has raised more than $150,000 for Arizona pet-focused nonprofits through fundraising photography projects. With Tails of Tucson, that mission continues. Because our pets do not stay with us forever. The chance to celebrate them is now. And the chance to help save more lives is now too.
