Let’s Make a Difference for the Animals of PACC

This season let’s make a difference for the animals of PACC by taking just a few minutes to give something small but special. First, let me tell you a little story about why I think it’s important to sweat the small stuff.

My Story

Once upon a time, I was trying to get into the U of A, and I was frustrated that everything I did had some fee attached. Applying had a fee, and reviewing my application had a fee. Applying for aid had a fee, and even talking to a counselor had a fee; it was financially prohibitive for a Tucson bartender working my way through community college.

I commented one day to a regular when he left me his loose change as part of my tip “ooh good, change; I’m saving up my change tips to pay for my application fee at the U of A.” He looked surprised and asked, “how much is the application fee?” “It’s 25 bucks. I should be able to save it up in a few weeks,” I said, “I just hope I don’t miss the deadline.” He pulled out his wallet, handed me $25 cash, and said, “here, this is a gift; go put in that application tomorrow.” That gift got me into the U of A, which resulted in 2 degrees, and now I own my own business.

Sweat the small stuff

Since then, I’ve always believed that you don’t have to do much to make a big difference. A small gift can have a considerable impact on those you’re giving to but on those who share your care. A donation to Friends of PACC not only impacts the pets in their care but also impacts staff, volunteers, and the community at PACC and makes them feel less alone.

In honor of the large impact of little things, I’ve decided to hold a big donation drive for Friends of Pima Animal Care Center – and I’d love for you to be a part of it! I’m doing this with members of my Working with Dog pet business community to help animals in our own community and worldwide!

Who are we donating to, and why?

Let’s Make a Difference for the Animals of Pima Animal Care Center

I chose PACC because I believe in their work to support the pets and people of Pima County and because my best friend Buddy was adopted there, and I want to help as many Buddys as possible.

When our community provides essential supplies that keep pets fed, healthy, and happy, PACC and FoP can devote their financial resources to things like:

  • more comfortable facilities
  • increased medical care
  • More robust community programs like TNR, free microchipping and vaccinations, safety net fostering, traditional fostering, and other programs support pets and the humans that love them.

It takes a lot to provide the basics of animal care. Food, treats, towels, cat litter, puppy pads, and enrichment add up to thousands of dollars annually. PACC has an Amazon wish list for several causes all within the shelter, which can all be viewed below

Let’s do this together!

I want to see photos of PACC on social media stacked to the ceiling with toys and food, and treats that we all donated to share the giving spirit and holiday warmth with everyone who works, volunteers, visits, or adopts that week.

As you head out to shop these next few weeks, keep this wish list with you. Purchase an item or two on each trip or go on a big shopping spree if you like. Or you can use the links above and have your amazon purchase delivered right to PACCs front door!

How to donate:
